Dear Colleagues,

Hope this finds you all having enjoyed a great summer and excited for the new school year.

NGSO'14 will run from Sun. 9/14/14 to Sat. 9/20/14 with a variety of information, skills-building, and social events to prepare and inform new students about academic and student life resources, and to start building a sense of a connection and community with each other. Your support and participation has always been crucial and much appreciated.

I would like to highlight a few programs from this year's full schedule:

  • Graduate Student Information Center (GSIC) will be open in the GCC providing information for new students, from 9/3/14 - 9/24/14, 9am-5pm
  • Grad 101 sessions: Helpful and informative sessions with panels of returning graduate students sharing their experiences and wisdom about graduate student life
  • Making the Most of Your Academic Opportunities, Ice Cream Social, Sequoia Way, Courtyard behind Green Earth Sciences, Wednesday, 9/17/14, 4:00-5:30pm
  • CTL's presentation of "Graduate School Strategies" on 9/16/14 and 9/18/14
  • President's Reception, Hoover House, Thursday, 9/18/14. 3:30-5 pm
  • GOALIE (Graduate Orientation And Lunch Information Event), Canfield Court (between Meyer Library and the Law School), Friday, 9/19/14, 12-2pm

You are welcomed to attend any of these and other NGSO'14 events.

Please also know that the international student orientation at Bechtel will be from 9/8/14-9/24/14. Please check the I-Center website for further information and updates.
